Kisumu governor Anyang Nyon’go has broken the silence on his health amidst concerns from fellow politicians that his health was deteriorating.
Speaking after a successful hip surgery, the governor rebuked those using his state of health to advance succession politics in Kisumu.
The governor whose win was upheld by the High Court earlier this week lamented that "it is wrong to reduce the important matter of one's health to platform discourse".
Nyon’go added that he was aware of “godforsaken individuals who are writing his obituary at home”.
He was upbeat about his health, stating that "as soon as the doctor certifies me fit for travel, I will be heading home to join the gallant people of Kisumu in building the county, and the NASA compatriots in the struggle for electoral justice."
In 2011, Nyon’go disclosed that he had prostate cancer and had been undergoing treatment for the same in America.
