ODM leader Raila Odinga has spoken after his party lost the Embakasi South and Ugenya Parliamentary seats.

Speaking in Nairobi on Monday, Raila said that the loss was not a big deal since it was a win for Nasa in the Embakasi South by-election.

On the Ugenya seat, the African Union envoy said that the win by David Ochieng was by a small margin against the ODM candidate Chris Karan.

Relationship with Orengo

"The fact that somebody has lost n election is not a big deal, in Embakasi it was Nasa against Nasa... ODM has no issues...," Raila remarked.

Raila also dismissed claims that there was friction between Siaya Senator James Orengo maintaining that the latter was a staunch ODM member.

"What problems, Orengo was campaigning for ODM. Orengo is a very loyal member of ODM. There is nothing but only positive issues about Hon. James Orengo," Raila stated.

Ruto's alleged hand

"There are no issues in ODM. There are no differences in ODM... ODM remains a very intact and strong party," he added.

The lose by ODM was blamed on Raila's absence from the campaign trail with others speculating his political nemesis DP William Ruto had equipped candidates vying against ODM in the two by-elections.

South Pokot MP, David Pkosing, wondered how Odinga expected candidates from his party to perform well when he has slowed down on playing politics at the grassroots level.
