Jubilee MP responds to IEBC statement of arrest

The Kandara Constituency Member of Parliament denied harrasing an electoral officer for results.

The said statement as shared by the electoral body demanded her probing and arrest for harassing an IEBC officer in her constituency.

Speaking to Kenyans, Mrs Wahome denied the allegations stating that the recorded video evidence is proof of a probable set up.

She said, “I will only respond when they call me. Why are they issuing statement yet they do not know what happened?”

In the video making rounds on social media shows Mrs Wahome confronting Kandara constituency returning officer Martin Malonza.

Mr Malonza accused Mrs Wahome of rushing him to deliver presidential results of the repeat elections from the polling station without consulting with her. He claims that the Kandara MP blocked the route he blocked his path before she grabbed and started shoving him around.

In defense, the Jubilee member argued, “I did not harass him that is not harassment. I was merely checking on the results to verify what had been recorded for the Jubilee candidate. I asked him calmly then he started shouting at me, who does that?”

“He was very rude and did not want to be asked any questions. What I did is not outside the law and it is prejudicial of IEBC to issue a statement which I have not seen by the way asking for my arrest. The returning officer was supposed to sit and explain in a calm manner not causing drama that way,” she explained.
