Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria was also caught up in the fiery station, and was nearly ejected out of parliament.
Transport and Infrastructure committee was interrogating Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia on questions regarding road construction in the 290 Constituencies.
The session turned ugly after Onyonka confronted Macharia on the gross disparities in how the Transport ministry was building roads across various constituencies.

Parliament had passed a resolution requiring Macharia’s ministry to build at least twenty kilometres in each constituencies.
Onyoka told the committee that his constituency had not received a single kilometre of tarmac while his neighbouring constituency, Kitutu Chache North under MP Jimmy Agwenyi, had received nearly 80 kilometres.
The CS responded by saying he was not in a position to answer the question, and was quickly supported by Mumias West MP Johnson Naicca.
Onyonka got infuriated and went on to accuse his colleague of having a vested interest.

“I have a right to ask questions and get answers from the CS. The CS must answer unless you have an interest. Can you declare your interest,” a visibly angered Onyonka stated.
Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, who is not a member but attended as a friend of the committee, joined in on the debate by defending the CS.
Kuria and Naicca challenged Onyonka to raise such questions with the Transport and housing committees.
Several committee members got angry with Kuria’s intervention and threatened to physically eject him out of the sitting.
