DP Ruto visits the village where he earned the name ‘Hustler’ with a unique project
It is while hawking chicken to motorists here that the DP honed his communication and convincing ability and the nickname ‘hustler”.
The chief auctioneer at the event was none other than the DP himself with a total of Sh 6Million shillings raised at the event which saw each chicken go for Sh 1200.
He came with rare motivation to youths in the area who have taken after his footsteps in selling chicken, launching the first ever chicken auction.
The DP announced that the auction would be held yearly at a venue to be identified by the county government to boost poultry farming by women and youth groups to lift them out of poverty .
Ruto would later hustle his way to the top, occupying the second most powerful office in the land with business interests across different areas.
He was accompanied by a host of other leaders including Governor Governor Jackson Mandago, MPs Oscar Sudi (Kapseret), Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira), Caleb Kositany (Soy), Janet Sitienei (Turbo) and Gideon Keter (Nominated).
