DP Ruto's allies adopt radical measures after President Kenyatta's fiery speech at Kasarani

We won’t take anything lying down, those thinking they will threaten and silence us will be in for a rude shock-Ndindi Nyoro

DP Ruto at a past event

In the wake of an onslaught targeting them, Deputy President William Ruto’s allies have revealed a secret source of funds that is being used to drive the “anti-Ruto agenda and are planning the fight of a life time that will see them adopt a different strategy.

The legislators, mostly from central Kenya told Nation that they would use public rallies, the floors of the National Assembly and the Senate, television and radio stations as well as the social media to advance Mr Ruto’s 2022 agenda.

In what is expected to be a full-blown onslaught against the wing allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta, the MPs plan to take the battle to the President’s doorstep at Harambee House.

They plan to scrap off the confidential expenditure managed by the Interior ministry, which they allege is being used to fund anti-Ruto activities and frustrate his 2022 bid.

A defiant Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro confirmed that “Since the fund (confidential expenditure) has been politically used against the deputy president, I will be proposing the scrapping of the same to ensure prudent management of public resources and to rein in some rogue public servants who are using the kitty to undermine Ruto”.

“We won’t take anything lying down, those thinking they will threaten and silence us will be in for a rude shock, in fact we shall be summoning some of them to Parliament,” he added.

Karanja Kibicho dares pro-Ruto camp

Reports indicate that they are driven by the perception that Interior PS Karanja Kibicho is (mis)managing and (mis)using the kitty to fund the anti-DP activities.

Kibicho however dismissed the allegations and dared the MPs to go ahead with their plans if they feel that the kitty is not of benefit to the country.

“That is their prerogative. If they feel it (the expenditure) is not useful for our country, they can scrap it. We have no problem. They can do as they please,” said Kibicho.

“Let’s see how far that gets.” Added the PS who has on numerous occasions been singled out by DP Ruto’s allies as a powerful force opposed to his 2022 bid.

The move, if effected will face stiff opposition from MPs loyal to President Kenyatta, opposition leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka who have vowed to shoot down any malicious bill brought before the House.
