The truth on what transpired at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Saturday evening when President Uhuru Kenyatta jetted back into the country has been revealed amidst claims that President deliberately snubbed his deputy who had gone to receive him, prompting the latter to storm out in anger.
In a post that went viral on Facebook, one user alleged that the deliberately used a different route to avoid coming into contact with his deputy who had gone to receive him at the airport and was waiting in the VIP arrivals section.
âFunny occurrence here at JKIA. Kamwana [President Kenyattaâs nickname] jets back [a] few minutes ago from Zambia, where he has been since Thursday.
âHis presidential jet docks at the normal passenger terminal. From where I am locked on a traffic jam, I can see Kamwana embarking from the plane being welcomed by only military and police heads.
President Uhuru Kenyatta receives a warm reception at the start of his 2 day state visit to Zambia
â[He] then checks outs through normal passenger terminal. On the other hand, DP [Ruto] was waiting to receive his boss from the VIP/Presidential lounge. Information reaches DP that his boss has landed through normal passenger terminal. DP feels disappointed. Departs JKIA presidential lounge in a huff, not amused, leaving behind his boss whom he had come to welcome back home.â
A representative from the office of the DP has dismissed the allegations, stating that DP Ruto did not go to JKIA to receive the president.
The official who spoke in confidence to K24TV stated that DP Ruto had various engagements in Nyandarua County on Saturday evening and hadnât even concluded his visit, when the president jetted back.
âHe, therefore, couldnât make it to the JKIA in time to receive the president,â he confirmed.

âWhat you are reading online is fake newsâ.He added.
In deed the DP was in Nyandarua County for the better part of the day and presided over a fundraising at an AIC Church in Nyandarua County.
The claims do not make sense as it is impossible to monitor passenger arrivals at JKIA from Mombasa road where the user claim to have been stuck observing the whole alleged drama unfold.
