Makadara MP George Aladwa arrested by police
Aladwa was arrested from his Buruburu home by police officers on Saturday morning and is believed to have been transferred to Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Kiambu according to The Standard.
Although the charges remain unknown, the vocal legislator played a major role in the controversial swearing in of Raila Odinga.
Shortly after the event, police moved in swiftly with a series of arrests made.
Among those arrested so far include Miguna Miguna and TJ Kajwang who administered the oath to Odinga.
Before Raila took his oath, Attorney General (AG) Githu Muigai had stated that the ceremony would amount to high treason punishable by death.
However, this did not deter NASA from proceeding with the event even after police stated that they would arrest and prosecute anyone lined to the event based on the AG’s advice.
Also caught up in the crackdown are journalist linked to reporting on the controversial swearing in event with NTV’s Linus Kaikai and Larry Madowo featuring prominently.
