Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party leader noted that reconcilliation beween the DP and MPs Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills), Joshua Kutuny (Cherangany) and Silas Tiren (Moiben) would serve to bring regional and national unity.

"I will talk to the three with the aim of ironing out the differences between them and the Deputy President.

"The MPs might be having one or two issues bothering them that need to be addressed. It is possible for leaders to unite for the sake of development," the former governor explained.

Bomet Woman Representative Joyce Korir endorsed Ruto's new assignment pledging to support him in the endeavour.

"I fully support the efforts to reconcile the three MPs with the Deputy President so as to enable him (Mr Ruto) to focus fully on delivering the presidency in the 2022 General Election," she noted.

She, however, urged the DP to avoid engaging the rebels in the back and forth verbal attacks and let his juniors handle the three.

The three have been critical of the DP following the recent exposé on maize cartels. Kutuny went as far as accusing DP Ruto of being the mastermind behind the cartels.

"It is a fact that the DP is a godfather of cartels who have are engaged in maize imports and hoarding of subsidised fertlizer in the country," the Cherangany legislator stated.

Responding to the three, DP Ruto assured them thet they are "fighting a losing battle by intentionally misleading the farmers on maize production and pricing in the country."
