The MPs who included Maina Kamanda (nominated), Ngunjiri Wambugu (Nyeri Town), Paul Koinange (Kiambaa), Muturi Kigano (Kangema), Naomi Shaban (Taveta) and Former Dagoreti South MP Dennis Waweru accused DP Ruto’s allies (famously called team tangatanga) of disobeying presidential directive to halt early campaigns.
"If they think their master can assist them secure their elective positions, let them resign and seek fresh mandate under their master," Mr Waweru said.
The legislators who were flanked by another group dubbed Diaspora Leaders Forum issued an ultimatum to the Tanga Tanga group to either respect President Uhuru Kenyatta or quit the Jubilee Party.
Proceeds of corruption used to fund politics
The MPs also urged the DCI to move in with speed, alleging that proceeds of grand corruption in government was being used to finance politics.

"We shall also pile pressure on government to conduct lifestyle audit on Cabinet secretaries and all the MPs. Some of us have served in ministries but we don't have the abnormal wealth like some of the current CSs," Kamanda added.
Drama as Jubilee MPs clash in front of DP Ruto
The developments came barely a day after politics found its way at an event attended by DP Ruto when several governors and MPs allied to his camp dismissed Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria’s ambitions.
Among those who dismissed Kuria’s dreams at the burial of Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki’s mother are Ferdinand Waititu, Kiraitu Murungi, Anne Waiguru and Kimani Ichungwah who made it clear that the DP would be their preferred candidate in 2022.
“We don’t want to be confused by any other issues. Sisi tuko nyuma wako and I wanted to say that. Sisi tuko nyuma ya Deputy President (Ruto).”Waititu said.
Similar remarks were made by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and Ichungwah who maintained that they would woe voters for the Deputy President, stating that Kuria’s ambitions would amount to nothing.
