Detectives said they questioned Linturi after his partner alleged he threatened to kill her during a domestic quarrel at their Runda home, in Nairobi.
“There was a complaint of threats against life by the senator and he was summoned for questioning. Investigations are ongoing and we will act accordingly with time,” said the DCI.
The senator however, conceded for having gone at the DCI but denied claims that he had gone there to record a statement in regards to having threatened the wife.
“I have not been summoned to the DCI nor recorded any statement and if I am called upon, I will present myself there, You write what she (Keitany) has told you. Write everything.” Said Lenturi
According to The Standard, Keitany refused to comment regarding the incident only stating,“I don’t want to talk about anything."
Keitany once served as the Chief of staff for deputy President William Ruto and lost her job in 2015 in the wake of graft allegations in Jubilee government.
This was after Kenyatta tabled names before National Assembly asking those who were implicated in corruption allegations to step aside to allow Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)to conduct investigations.
She was accused of spending over Sh100 million to sponsor a censor motion against the then Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru. The motion was dropped by her husband Lenturi who was serving as Igembe South MP back then.
