Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has announced of a plan to visit former President Daniel Moi in his Kabarak home for blessings.

The former Deputy President has also downplayed Raila-Moi meeting held on Thursday at his home in Kabarak, Nakuru County.

Raila Odinga on Thursday held a private meeting with former President Daniel arap Moi in Kabarak, but his communication team would downplay political motives, adding that the visit was meant to check on the health status of the former President.

Moi was recently discharged from hospital in Israel’s Tel Aviv for a regular knee checkup.

Despite the rather innocent explanation, there were heavy political undertones in the Kabarak "handshake".

Mr Odinga was accompanied by close political allies including Vihiga Senator George Khaniri and Mvita MP Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir.

Nassir was recently awarded the powerful position of Chairperson of the Pbublic Investments Committee while Khaniri has been in Odinga's good books over his active role in the January 30th swearing in ceremony.

He has equally lauded IEBC Chairman Mr Wafula Chebukati for sending home Commission CEO Ezra Chiloba on a three month compulsory leave pending investigation into flouting procurement at the Commission.

Mr Musyoka, jetted out of the country Sunday evening to monitor the presidential election in the Eastern European Republic of Azerbaijan and he was leading the observer mission from Africa, under the umbrella of Centrist Democrat International (CDI).

Azerbaijan, a country of nine million people which broke away from the Soviet Union in 1991 will hold its presidential elections this week on Wednesday, April 11.
