Government considering social media shut down in new strategy to deal with Raila

Government cracking down on NASA oath plan participants.

Up to ten opposition leaders could also have their passports confiscated by the government according to the Nation's sources.

Jubilee's administration is seeking an effective way to crack down on any National Super Alliance leaders who were involved in Raila Odinga's "swearing in".

Interior ministry and the Directorate of Immigration and Registration of Persons said letters addressed to some of those affected were signed on Friday, ready to be dispatched from Nairobi’s Nyayo House.

Apart from the controversial "inauguration", Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti disclosed to the Sunday Nation that detectives are investigating other serious offences like arming civilians.

Self appointed general of the National Resistance Movement, Miguna Miguna was among those being probed.

Jubilee also plans to investigate financial transactions of NASA figureheads.

The politicians’ firearms licences have also been revoked and letters sent to them explaining the implications.

NRM has been outlawed.

TV stations that were shut down after airing the swearing in have yet to start broadcasting again, even after the Communication Authority of Kenya being ordered by the High Court to resume airing.
