KANU takes on Waiguru after saying Mzee Moi stole enormously

Leave Moi alone!

KANU has issued a stern warning against Kirinyga Governor Anne Waiguru after dragging the name of retired President Daniel Moi in an interview where she was responding to Ipsos opinion poll that ranked her the second most corrupt individual in Kenya.

During the show, Ms. Waiguru questioned how she was ranked higher than Mzee Moi, who was at position three with only 17 percent of those surveyed opining that he was a corrupt leader.

“The poll even ranked me above the former President Daniel Moi who ruled this country for 24 years. How ridiculous can it get? Everybody knows what we think about the Moi era. Are you saying that I stole more than Moi so that you can make me more corrupt?" she posed.

The political party which Moi headed for many years condemned the Governor and asked her to carry her own cross

"Governor  oversaw the historic looting at NYS. It is unfortunate that she dragged Retired President Moi into her situation. The Governor should carry her own cross," KANU party tweeted.

Waiguru further poked holes on the parameters used by the research firm noting that they will have to explain them in court.

"How were they measuring it? Was it in terms of litres? What were they using? Corruption is an issue of integrity. It is either you are corrupt or not corrupt. Ipsos will have to defend the parameters in court," she said.
