Anyang’ Nyong’o stay in office threatened by today's development

The Kisumu Governor is receiving treatment in the US

Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o is facing yet another threat to his stay in office shortly after the High Court dismissed an election petition against him.

On Thursday, Nyong’o predecessor moved to the Court of Appeal in Kisumu where he filed a new case challenging the ruling that dismissed his petition.

Ranguma had initially claimed that he had evidence that showed widespread electoral malpractices including hacking of the IEBC systems in favour of Nyong’o.

However, the presiding judge ruled that the former Kisumu governor had submitted a weak and ‘embarrassing’ case.

Justice David Majanja on January 3 upheld the professor’s victory as the validly elected county boss in the August 8, 2017 elections.

Ranguma was further handed a Sh5million fine as costs for the petition.
