Uhuru nominates new SRC Chairperson

Chumo was rejected by parliament over integrity issues.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday nominated Lynne Cherop to the post of Salaries and Remuneration Commission Chairperson.

The nomination comes a week after members of parliament rejected in totality, the nomination of former KPLC Managing Director Ben Chumo, who was axed on integrity issues.

Ms Cherop was among a host of people who were touted to replace Sarah Serem who was picked by the president to an ambassadorial job.

Others who featured prominently in the race to replace former chairperson Sarah Serem whose term came to an end last December, are former Vice Chairperson of the Public Service Commission (PSC) Ambassador Peter Ole Nkurayia and former Institute of Certified Public Accounts of Kenya (ICPAK) chief executive Patrick Ngumi.
