Siaya Senator James Orengo was on Wednesday roughed up by police officers and kicked out of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Orengo was trying to serve immigration officers with court orders which ordered for the immediate release of self-proclaimed NRM general Dr. Miguna Miguna.The newly elected Senate minority leader was in the company of lawyers Julie Soweto, Nelson Havi and Cliff Ombeta, who were all representing Miguna but were ejected out of the airport and assaulted.
"A contingent of GSU officers surrounded and clobbered the three of us before we ran for our dear lives," Ombeta said on Thursday morning. Havi backed the sentiments stating that they were harassed and assaulted by GSU officers who blocked terminal 2 where Miguna was being held in a toilet.
On Wednesday night, the State deported Miguna Dr. Miguna to Dubai on flight EK722.
