Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria caused a stir on social media with his comments following the humiliating defeat of his candidate Benson Musungu in the Kibra ODM nominations.
Taking to Twitter, Kuria expressed disappointment, alluding that the community failed to use their numerical advantage in Kibra to hand Musungu the ODM ticket and intstead backed Bernard Okoth (Imran) who carried the day.
“Waluhya tukunywe chai tuongee. Nani alituroga? Khulalenjela avandu nivalia mbaka siku shina?" Kuria wrote.
The lawmaker could barely hide his disappaointment after his elaborate campaigns in the constituency and online failed to yield the desired results with his candidate managing a paltry 524 votes and coming a distant fourth.
“Waluhya mtasaidika aje ? Ni nani ataokoa Waluhya ? Tukunywe chai tuongee kiasi” Kuria ranted.
His remarks attracted a backlash from netizens ith some alleging that he played a key role in Musungu’s loss.
Geoffrey K. Boge wrote: “Your presence in his campaigns made him to lose all the gains he had made. I thought you were asking your supporters in Kibra to support him. You made voters to view him as your project. Nominations were strictly for ODM registered party members. Unless you registered your people in ODM”.
“You and Kamanda are supporting Musungu for your best known reasons. Your reasoning dont qualify you to be a law maker. Whoever will make it will be tasked to represent Kibrans.” Quipped Watulo Benson Wekesa.
Stacey Bomet alleged that Musungu’s loss is an indication of what Kuria will go through shough he go ahead with his plans to ontest for the presidency in 2022.
“Moses Kuria your "friend" has gone down. Your popular post only worked on facebook. It reflects how you will lose in your 2022 bid for President. I hope you didnt send any invoice boss.” She wrote.
Stanly Chepkwony wondered if Kuria’s prominence in the nominations campaigns. “So you were campaigning for Luhya not entire people of Kibra ?” He wrote.
