Musalia Mudavadi loses his position for skipping Raila’s swearing in

Action taken against Mudavadi for skipping NASA event

Addressing mourners during the burial of Ken Wafula in Bungoma on Friday, COTU boss Francis Atwoli revealed that Mudavadi will no longer be the Luhya Community spokesman after he failed to attend Odinga’s swearing in.

Atwoli also lashed at Mudavadi for skipping the event and vowed that he would never support Mudavadi in future.

“A person who aspires to be president should not be afraid of anything. We expected him to rally behind Odinga but he chickened out.” Atwoli said.

The COTU boss also apologized to the Luhya community for making Mudavadi the community’s spokesman, admitting that he made a mistake.

Mudavadi was appointed to the influential position in 2016 following a series of consultative meetings and research last year at an event officiated by Atwoli.

Mudavadi alongside Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka skipped the swearing in event, drawing anger and criticism from opposition supporters who termed their actions as cowardly.

A section of opposition supporters also demanded that Joho should take over the mantle upon the retirement of Raila Odinga.
