Mudavadi discloses why Raila met Uhuru without other NASA principals
This comes a day after Raila held a meeting with President Uhuru
In a press statement, Mudavadi said that the meeting could have been to please the visiting US Secretary of State Mr. Rex Tillerson adding that they were not aware of any planned meeting between the two and it was not a culmination of the dialogue that NASA has been calling for.
“The most asked question is where were the other three NASA Co-principals? The answer is we were neither aware, briefed, consulted nor invited,” said Mudavadi.
Mudavadi said that the meeting was just between two people and it does not reflect the agreement of the NASA summit, adding that it was also not processed through the right channels within the NASA coalition.
“The MoU does not mention NASA, the two repeatedly invoke their names and personally commit to each other and not to Kenyans,” he said.
The ANC party leader further said that NASA is not opposed to dialogue but protested that an MoU between two people does not constitute an all-inclusive national dialogue that they have been calling for, as he re-affirmed that NASA was fully committed to changing Kenya for the better.
This comes a day after opposition Chief Raila Odinga met with President Uhuru Kenyatta at his Harambee House office where they held talks and issued a press statement committing to work together to achieve their shared objectives as national leaders.
