Will Uhuru abandon Ruto after Moi-Raila handshake? - Mutahi Ngunyi answers

Will Ruto be blindsided?

Some political pundits opine that it will be the beginning of new alliances ahead of the 2022 General Election, where many say Deputy President William Ruto risk being blindsided.

Poking holes as to whether President Uhuru Kenyatta will abandon Mr. Ruto, controversial political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi divulged that this was an unlikely end.

In his analysis titled: 'Raila - Moi Meeting: Kitendawili Without Legs?’ Ngunyi noted that though this may be Odinga’s secret plan for uniting with Mr. Kenyatta, the bond between the Head of State and his DP will not be broken.

The political scientist theorised that the meeting with Mzee Moi was a strategy to bring different dynasties in Kenya’s politics together in a bid to sideline Mr. Ruto, whose father was a nobody.

"This was no ordinary meeting between Mzee Moi and Raila. What we saw was the first fellowship of political dynasties. Yet in this fellowship, we only identified Raila and Gideon Moi. But behind them were the sons of politicians created by Mzee Moi after their fathers died.

''All of these boys were created from nothing by Mzee Moi. They were created to inherit their fathers because Mzee Moi was an expert at leaving dynasties. They were brought together to stop William Ruto whose father had no name from becoming president. The meeting was a subtle war congress and it declared war between the dynasty and the hustler nation.

The political scientist highlighted that DP Ruto’s ambition of becoming Kenya’s 5th President was still intact and that President Kenyatta will be behind when the time comes.

"If the war between the dynasties and the hustler nation has been declared Uhuru is on the side of the hustler nation. He is with Ruto and there are no gray areas,"  the analyst said.

Prof Ngunyi and his group of lawyers opined that the former Prime Minister does not have a plan stating that this prompted him to meet Mr. Moi for an alleged endorsement.
