Raila’s team speaks on paying families of NASA supporters killed by police

Will NASA be giving victims money raised during the fund raising?

This comes after a letter went viral on social media that the Opposition will be sharing funds raised during a fundraiser held on 24 November 2017 at Laico Regency with the victims’ relatives.

The event was hosted by NASA leader Raila Odinga.

On Monday, Magaya denounced the letter stating that it was fabricated by Jubilee people to push a certain agenda to Kenyans.

“Another desperate fake statement authored by jubilee monoglots,” Magaya captioned the statement.

During the fundraiser, the former Prime Minister criticised President Uhuru Kenyatta and the police for launching a deadly attack against his die-hard supporters.

Mr. Odinga dared the police to shoot him or detain him if they were looking for someone to punish. He urged officers not to inflict pain on the lives of his supporters.

"We are gathered here for a very sad occasion...we have come to collect money to bury very young people.

"If Raila is the problem, arrest him...arrest him. Take him to prison...take him to jail...And if you want to shoot, shoot Raila!" he said.

The NASA leader added: "But don't kill people with young families... Children are going to grow without fathers, mothers because you have killed their parents at this age".

The Opposition will be holding a memorial service for the victims on Tuesday at Jacaranda Grounds, an event that will be parallel to Kenyatta's inaguration.

However, police has warned NASA against holding the event.
