Raila achieves another highlight of his career by brokering major deal

NASA leader currently in South Africa on a special assignment

Sources privy to the details divulged that Raila has brokered a deal that will see South Sudan’s Salva Kiir and exiled former Vice President Riek Machar hold face to face talks for the first time.

Well-placed sources also revealed that the opposition chief also succeeded in securing the release of Riek Machar from house arrest in South Africa.

Machar will jet into Kenya next week for the first leg of talks with the second leg scheduled for Khartoum before his eventual return home.

The NASA boss jetted into South Africa this week after an earlier with Kiir in Juba, carrying the hopes of millions of South Sudanese citizens who are yearning for peace after decades of war.

News of the developments was well received by Kiir who promised to work together with Machar to build the war-ravaged nation.

Odinga appears to be on course to accomplishing his first task after the March 09 handshake by leading efforts to bring peace to the war-torn country.

Shortly after the handshake, Odinga’s career took a new shift after he represented the state during the funeral of Winnie Mandela.
