His decision to meet members of the GEMA Business Community appears to have rubbed his supporters and friends-turned critics the wrong way.
In the wake of the 2017 elections demonstrations held by NASA, some opposition supporters raised concerns that the outlawed Mungiki sect had disguised itself as The Nairobi Business Community and was behind the slaughter of opposition supporters in Muthurwa and Mathare.
Leading the attack was none other than the self-declared NRM General Miguna Miguna who termed Odinga’s recent meetings and political maneuvers “intellectual stupidity”.
Shortly after the meeting, human rights activist Boniface Mwangi took to Twitter ad disclosed that Odinga is simply finding a way to keep himself busy.
His post read that “Raila keeping himself busy because he has nothing to do with his time. The handcheque made him irrelevant!”
Opposition supporters we not impressed by the meeting in which Odinga reportedly updated the group on the handshake and the Building Bridges to a New Kenya initiative.
Earlier this week, Odinga met the 14 member team established to steer the Building Bridges initiative.
