DP Ruto allies reveal the only good thing about Raila joining Jubilee

New information emerges

Led by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, the leaders say that the deal between Kenyatta and Odinga was going to be helpful in ensuring Ruto ascends to the presidency in 2022.

Murkomen stated that the team had advised President Kenyatta to make sure that the former Prime Minister was given a big office with all the staff he requires.

Job abroad

The condition, however, is that Odinga's assignments should be concentrated abroad to make sure he does not have time to go round the country.

"We have spoken and accepted with Uhuru Kenyatta to give this Mzee a big office in Nairobi, with all the workers he wants. But his job must be in Addis Ababa, Geneva, and New York. We don't want him to roam in Kenya," Murkomen stated while speaking at a funeral in Keiyo South.

The sentiments were echoed by Cherangany MP Joshua Kuttuny who stated that Ruto would benefit from the fact that Odinga was joining the Jubilee government when he is "an old man".

Political reach

He likened Odinga to an old man who joins young men in drinking traditional brew, stating that they would ensure his straw was clear to make sure he was quickly intoxicated and overtaken by sleep.

The development came at a time when the Deputy President has been utilising the Odinga-Kenyatta deal to expand his political reach in Opposition strongholds.

Over the weekend, several Coastal MPs allied to the ODM party vowed to support Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
