Delegation from UK to attend Raila Odinga’s swearing in by NASA

UK team to attend Raila's swearing in event

A delegation from the United Kingdom has confirmed that they will attend NASA’s swearing in ceremony for Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka.

The delegation of NASA-United Kingdom supporters left for Kenya on Sunday and will represent over 50000 members from across the political divide in the United Kingdom.

NASA-UK chair Kivindyo Ndivo confirmed that the team was scheduled to leave London on Sunday morning for the event that would be the climax of a series of People’s Assembly rallies by the opposition.

The Vice chair to NASA-UK Mr. George Osore divulged to The Standard that the group was keen on being part of the historic milestone in Kenya’s democracy.

“We want to be part of this historical event, Kenya was about to become the first country in Africa to exercise this rare human right of self-determination which is unheard of in the developing world,” Osore said.

He added that the group which was formed shortly after August 2017 would attend the event in solidarity with their Kenyan counterparts for their selflessness and sacrifice in the struggle.

The group has been keenly following Kenyan politics and raised close to 5 Million shillings in support of victims of the violence that was witnessed shortly after the elections held last year.

Last year, the diplomatic community prevailed upon NASA to postpone its plans to conduct the event to pave way for dialogue with Jubilee.

However, dialogue failed to materialize after the Jubilee administration dismissed any talks other than those in support of its development agenda for the nation.
