While the meeting was reported to have gone on smoothly, the Kenyan team continued with their peculiar habit of not carrying note books and pens.
The photo captured during the talks held at the Cabinet Room captured the entire US delegation holding folders, pens and writing pads while the cups of tea were a slight distance away.

President Kenyatta and Foreign Affairs CS Monica Juma were the only officials who carried writing materials to the high-level meeting.
Kenyans were quick to react to the photo, which was widely shared on social media accompanied by comments showing disapproval of the Kenyan delegation’s inaction.
“Our Kenyan guys need to know when to carry note pads....not a very good picture,” Chris Martin said.
“On one side I see guys with note books n pens in their hands, the other side cups of tea n fingers pointing towards the cup handles! Tourism is real!” Simon Maina wrote on Facebook.
Other users satirically claimed the Kenyan education system was to blame for encouraging the cramming culture.

“Thanks to our 8-4-4 system.....we are used to taking notes offhead,” Liz Shiko stated.
