DP Ruto’s tough warning to Murkomen over attack on Uhuru

Murkomen in trouble

Deputy President William Ruto reportedly warned his ally, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, over the recent statements made in the media on the cracks in Jubilee.

The Nation quoted its sources who revealed that Murkomen and Ruto met on Wednesday morning, a few days after the senator’s explosive interview on Sunday.

During the Sunday interview at Citizen TV, Murkomen claimed that there were individuals in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s office who were working to undermine Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.

The comments drew angry reactions from Rift Valley MPs who accused the Senate Majority Leader of making sensational claims that would divide Jubilee and undermine the President.

It later emerged that a section of Rift Valley MPs had planned to replace Murkomen as the chairperson of their regional caucus.

The Elgeyo Marakwet reportedly sought help from Ruto who saved him from being impeached.

The DP, however, warned the Senator against issuing statements before consultations are made with his colleagues.

“He was at the Deputy President’s home on Wednesday morning. He was there at the same time footballer Victor Wanyama was there to see the DP,” an MP from Kericho was quoted by the Nation.
