Quack doctor Mugo wa Wairimu was arrested on Tuesday night, while moving out of his hideout.

Mugo was apprehended in Gachie, Kiambu County as he was moving to another hideout.
Sleuths had been trying to locate the quack doctor, with searches in Kiambu and Nairobi not bearing any fruit.
Court Date
Head of Flying Squad Musa Yego said the police arrested him at 7 pm and detained him at Pangani Police Station.
“We will arraign him at the Milimani Law Courts Wednesday,” Mr Yego stated.
According to reports by the Daily Nation, a detective had divulged that the SCPU had tracked multiple mobile phones linked to Mugo but to no avail.

At one point, police found a signal and followed it but when they found the phone Mugo wa Wairimu was not at the location.
Detectives had also suspected that Mugo, who was accused of rape by various women who visited his clinic, was being hidden by a relative in Kiambu.

Last week Mugo was exposed by NTV investigative journalist, Dennis Okari in an expose' which showed him injecting himself with an unknown drug and under the influence of alcohol.
In the investigative piece, Mugo Wa Wairimu was also caught operating an unlicensed clinic and still walking around scot free.
Mugo’s arrest came as the Nairobi assembly’s Health committee announced that it will this week meet to plan on how to crack down on clinics operating illegally.
