President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to visit his deputy's backyard amid a speculated rift among them.
The Head of State will be presiding over the relaunch of Rivatex, the Eldoret based textile factory.
Notably, the event will be held in Kapsaret which is the home turf of Kenyatta's fiery critic, MP Oscar Sudi.
Reports by the Nation indicated that President's handlers were not comfortable with Sudi hosting the event and instead they prefer to either have the Senator or Governor officiating it.
President Kenyatta has never visited Eldoret since the 2017 elections where he called on residents to give him a second term and he will hand over the mantle to Ruto.
Sudi blames Uhuru for tough times
The visit comes after President Kenyatta's furious dress down of rebels in Jubilee Party most of whom are allies of DP Ruto.
After Uhuru's reprimand, Sudi accused the President of appearing angry while speaking in his political strongholds but happier in opposition areas.
Sudi said that the unending politicking was due to harsh economic times that have seen most businesses either record losses or close down.
He further blamed the challenges facing Kenyans on new policies adopted after the handshake between Uhuru and Raila.
