State House Digital Affairs Director Dennis Itumbi was on Wednesday released and given tough bail conditions during the period of a case where he is accused of authoring a fake letter detailing an assassination plan against Deputy President William Ruto.
Itumbi will be required to deposit Sh100,000 to the court which will serve as his cash bail.
The Magistrate further ordered Itumbi to present himself to the DCI once every two days.
The Jubilee digital strategist will also submit his passport during the duration of the case and was also banned from commenting on the case on any social media where he has a big following.
The state had earlier requested to hold Itumbi for four more days to complete interviewing 256 members of a Whatsapp group known as Tanga Tanga.
The court, however, denied the request, saying the DCI had squandered the time given to complete his investigations.
The magistrate further ordered Itumbi's phone, sim cards, and power bank be returned to him within fourteen days.
