In its first message after the attack, State House also warned the public against sharing messages that may reveal where victims could be hiding even as the rescue operation continued.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is yet to issue a formal response on the incident.

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet said several civilians had already been rescued and that security system were on high alert.
Several of those trapped in the Dusit complex had shared their locations with the aim of the information reaching the rescuers.
