The Nyeri County government will pay full school fees for top 2019 KCPE student Andy Michael Munyiri, Governor Mutahi Kahiga confirmed.

Speaking when Andy and his family visited the Governor's office, Mr Kahiga congratulated the top performer and wished him well as he awaits a calling letter from his first choice school, Alliance Boys High School.
"We will support him in whichever way we can. Incidentally, he is one of the students that we, as a county, are going to pay full fees for, to cover all four years he is going to be there," the Governor promised.

The scholarship is among other gifts that have been offered to the top candidate which include a three-day trip with his guardian.
Andy scored 440 marks out of the possible 500 marks leading the crop of candidate who sat for the KCPE exam this year.
He relayed that he would like to pursue a career in the automotive engineering.
"I am so excited, I never even thought I could top in the whole country!
"I give most credit to my teachers because they are the ones behind all the preparations. In our school we were told not to be overexcited before and even during the exams, so it is all due to their preparations. And above all, it has taken the hand of God," Munyiri stated.
