In a tweet, Augustine Alanga, poked holes on whether the President was recognized by the institution and questioned why it  never congratulated Mr Kenyatta in 2013 ,when he was elected as the Head of State.

“Again let it be known that never congratulated for "winning" 2013 presidential election.Did he actually graduate?” Alanga tweeted.

In a response, Amherst College mentioned that indeed President Kenyatta, who was studying Political Science and Economics, graduated  in 1985.

The Varsity further asked the Economics student to direct more questions he might have to Alumni and Parent Programs at alumni@amherst.edu.

“ Uhuru Kenyatta graduated in 1985. Please direct other questions to Alumni and Parent Programs at ,” Amherst tweeted.

Alanga’s query comes at a time when Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has been under fire over his KCSE result slip.

Joho has been accused of faking his academics papers, allegations that prompted detectives at Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) launch a probe.

Opposition leaders have alleged that the Governor’s tribulations were politically instigated with some noting that there were many leaders holding fake academic papers in government
