The Prosecutor said the accused of no fixed address burgled the shop of one Folake Akinmeji, through the wall and stole bags of rice, beans, garri, yam flour and cassava flour.

18 Christians sentenced to jail.

The magistrate, Mr Banji Ayeomoni, who convicted Benjamin as he pleaded guilty to three-count charge of burglary, stealing and felony, said the imprisonment would serve as deterrent to others.

The offences contravened Sections 516, 413 and 390(9), Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol.1, Laws of Ondo State 2006.

Ayeomoni ordered the police to release the recovered items to the rightful owner.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Zedekiah Orogbemi, told the court that the accused and two others at large on May 12 at 1:15 a.m. at KM 3, Aye-Ore Expressway, Okitipupa, conspired to commit the offence.

He said the accused of no fixed address burgled the shop of one Folake Akinmeji, through the wall and stole bags of rice, beans, garri, yam flour and cassava flour.

Orogbemi added that they also stole tins of milk, tins of sardines and assorted wines all valued at N160,500.
