Baba, 32, of Lokogoma and Iliyasu, 30, of Damagazu village, are facing a one-count charge of abduction.

Both defendants denied the charge and pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr Donatus Abah, had told the court that one Issah Abdullahi of Kabusa village, Apo reported the matter at Apo Police Station on March13.

He said that the complainant alleged that on same date, his teenage daughter left the house in the morning to sell pure water and up till 9p.m. she was nowhere to be found.

“The complainant strongly suspected the second defendant, Iliyasu, to have abducted her daughter and taken her to Baba of Damagazu village, Apo.

“During police investigations, both men denied the allegation, but the said girl is yet to be found till now,’’ he said.

He said the offence was contrary to Section 272 of the Penal Code.
