A South Korean court has approved an arrest warrant for former South Korean President, Park Geun Hye, on Thursday, a report said.

It said Park was facing charges of bribery, coercion, abuse of power and disclosure of state secrets.

Park, 65, is South Korea’s first female president.

She was impeached by the National Assembly in December.

She was charged with colluding with close friend, Choi Soon Sil, to extort money from top South Korean companies and allowing her confidante to interfere with state affairs.

The impeachment removed the immunity that protected Park from criminal prosecution.
