Kano court remands teacher in prison for allegedly defiling 4 minors

A 28-year-old teacher has been remanded in jail for defiling four pupils in his school.

Jail

The accused, who lives at Dawakin Dakata Quarters, Kano, is standing trial on a charge of rape.

The Chief Magistrate, Hajiya Maryam Sabo, who gave the ruling, said the accused should be kept behind the bars after he pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Shuaibu Musa, told the court that Ali Ladan, Sale Abdu and Ahmad Ibrahim all of Rangaza Quarters Kano, reported the incident at Zango Police Division, Kano, on March 16.

He alleged that the accused forcefully had carnal knowledge of the complainants’ four daughters.

“The accused raped them in a private primary school situated at Rangaza Quarters, Kano, on different occasions.”

The prosecutor said that the accused had threatened to kill them if they disclosed to anyone the crime he allegedly committed.

The offence, he noted, contravened Section 283 of the Penal Code, Laws of the federation.

The case was adjourned until April 10 for mention.
