Kenya’s head coach Jerome Paarwater had named a strong squad which handed two players in George Nyambua and Leo Seje debuts after the team escaped defeat against Uganda in June.

Wilson Kopondo returned from injury after staying out during the Uganda match and was directly handed the armband against the North Africans.

Kenyan started on a high note and with a try in the 12th minute courtesy of Jacob Ojee followed by a quick successful conversion from Darwin Mukidza to pump more life to the Simbas.

These points ushered a period of goals after goals for Kenya until the 33rd minute when Tunisia scored their first try to put the score-line at 29-5.

Samson Onsumu, Jacob Ojee and Darwin Mukidza then lodged a campaign which catapulted Kenya’s points to 46-10 at halftime. Tunisia scored their second try a few minutes to the breather.

From the tunnel, the Simbas picked from where they left and registered a new record against the Hedi Mohamedali coached outfit. The highest score in history ahead of this match was a 53-7 win, a status which was surpassed on the 45 minute of the match, Leo Seje scoring a try on his debut.

In the 68 minute, substitute Martin Owila, Mukidza and Steve Tony had added the points tally to 79-10. The hosts continued with the same vigour to hit 100-10 at ‘full time’.
