Willy Ambaka and Dan Sikuta have pulled out of the Kenya Sevens squad for the Hong Kong  and Singapore legs of the 2016/17 HSBC Sevens World Series.

Ambaka is out due to a personal commitment while Sikuta misses this tour due to work commitments. The team’s technical bench will announce the duo’s replacements in due course.

Despite commitments, the pull out of Willy Ambaka and Dan Sikuta can be attributed to the call by their home clubs at the Kenya Cup to overlook the duty and help their teams in the ongoing games.

On April 31 Shujaa,s coach Innocent  Simiyu had named a 13 man squad set to represent Kenya at Hong Kong and Singapore series.

Andrew Amonde (KCB, Captain), Willy Ambaka, Eden Agero, Frank Wanyama (SportPesa Quins), Derrick Mayar ,Samuel Oliech (Resolution Impala Saracens), Dennis Ombachi (Nondescripts), Brian Tanga, Daniel Sikuta (Kabras Sugar), Bush Mwale (Menengai Cream Homeboyz), Augustine Lugonzo (Menengai Cream Homeboyz), Collins Injera (Mwamba), Nelson Oyoo (Top Fry Nakuru)

Management: Innocent Simiyu (Head Coach), Samuel Njogu (S&C), Will Webster (Performance Analyst), Erick Ogweno (Team Manager)

Brian Tanga and Dennis Ombachi had returned for the Shujaa squad while 23 year Resolution Impala Saracens winger Derrick Mayar is in line for his debut.

Tanga returns for the first time since the Sydney Sevens while Ombachi makes his first appearance of the season.

The trio come in for Billy Odhiambo (hamstring), Oscar Ayodi (knee) and Leonard Mugaisi who has been rested for this tour.

Shujaa have been grouped in Pool B with South Africa, Canada and France.
