The 2017 IAAF World U-18 World athletics Championship is getting to the final phase at Kasarani Stadium and some Kenyans have done their part in the competitions.

In 3000m boys’ finals, Kenyans Stanley Mburu Waithaka, Edward Zakayo took part the latter finishing at position five as the former come behind at position eleven.

Lydia Jeruto and Jackline Wambu also starred in the semifinal stage of 800m girls’ category; Jeruto finishing fourth in the first heat before Wambui finished fifth in the second heat.

Irene Akinyi participated in the 400m hurdles event on day two of the competition but failed to qualify for the finals.
