I was not taking selfies when Kisii bridge collapsed - Alfred Mutua

Angry Mutua hits back at journalists

Mutua  said that he was accompanied by Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi when a bridge they were standing on collapsed.

Capital FM  and Star newspaper reported that the two leaders were taking a selfie on the bridge when it caved in, further stating that they were shortly after rushed to hospital.

The Standard stated that the Mutua and his host were rescued by their bodyguards while two journalists were rushed to hospital after suffering injuries.

The Governor has, however, denied that they fell in the river saying that he was standing on the edge when the bridge collapsed.

Mutua has gone ahead to make a police report claiming that some journalists were spreading fake news against him.

"I have written a statement with the CID at Ogembo Police Station so that Standard Journalist Geoffrey Mosoku may be charged with spreading fake news and cyber bulling for lying that I had fallen into River Gucha and that I was taking a selfie."

"I have been baptized by River Gucha and now I must build a house in Gucha," Mutua stated.
