Auma Obama hits back at Kenyans attacking her on social media

I will repeat it again

Former US President Barack Obama’s sister - Auma Obama- on Monday spoke for the first time after she was trolled heavily on Twitter.

Last week, Ms. Auma was sharply criticized after boldly stating that Kenyans should stop waiting for aid and instead focus on building the country.

In her opening statement during the launch of Sauti Kuu Foundation, Auma took a jibe at those condemning her noting that she will not retract her sentiments.

"So you are not a victim so let’s stop and I will repeat this even if I am getting a flunk on social media. Let’s us stop the gonya gonya syndrome," she said.

When Dennis Okari and Betty Kyallo walked down the aisle in a grand wedding, many thought it was a love story destined for happily ever after. However, Okari has revealed that he later realised Betty was never meant to be his wife. He admitted that he wished he had never gone through with the wedding, as it was an attempt to 'correct a wrong' rather than a decision rooted in God’s plan.

She urged those condemning her to join the Sauti Kuu Foundation and she will help them change their mindset about poverty.

"I f you feel you are mad at me, I challenge you to participate with me and find solutions for our communities all over the country. I challenge the term poverty. Poverty is no excuse. There are so many opportunities. she said.

She went on to encourage the youth to be part of the Sauti Kuu Foundation stating that it will bring a difference in the community instead of running to the City to seek for opportunities

"We want to give young people options so that they can change their lives," she said.
