President Uhuru Kenyatta has finally spoken for the first time after snubbing the Monday night Presidential Debate held at the Catholic University of East and Central Africa.

Speaking on Tuesday, Mr Kenyatta stated that he ignored attending the debate because he saw it as a waste of time.

President Kenyatta noted that he had nothing to discuss with NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

"I decided that he will debate alone because I have nothing to debate with him. I will not waste my time there. I deliberately snubbed the debate because there is nothing to debate with him.

"I cannot debate with someone who does not have an agenda for this country," the President said.

The Head of State further mentioned that his development record speaks volumes.

Kenyatta was heavily criticised for refusing to attend the Presidential debate with some highlighting that it was disrespectful of him.

However, during the tour the President said that the media did not support him during the 2013 General Election hence he did not attend the debate.

"Media didn’t support me in 2013 and is not supporting me now. Shauri yao. Votes are with the 45 million Kenyans," he said.
