Babu Owino forced to open up after being linked to shameful video at popular city club

Hours after the clip was widely shared on social media, Babu Owino was forced to speak out.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has been forced to open up after being controversially linked to a shameful video at popular city club.

In the clip widely shared on social media, the MP along with several men allegedly said to be his bodyguards are seen assaulting the parking attendant of the Fortis Towers which houses the popular club Privee in Westlands, Nairobi.

According to the rounds on social media, the attendant is roughed up for allegedly asking for parking fees from the legislator.

The bodyguards are seen forcing their way out of the parking lot by raising the barrier and seconds later beating up a man believed to be the attendant.

Owino took to his Facebook page to deny the claims and blamed his rivals from Jubilee for being behind the propaganda and being obsessed with him.

"JUBILEE MUST GIVE ME A BREAK. There’s a video doing round claiming that I harassed a parking attendant at Westlands. During the weekend I was in Mombasa and such claims should be treated with a lot of contempt. Kila kitu ni Babu, kama unatongoza msichana na akatae ni Babu, akikubali na usisimame ni Babu, ukisimama na ukam haraka ni Babu, mashetani washindwe. (Everything is Babu, if you seduce a girl and she refuses its Babu, if she accepts its Babu, the devil should be defeated)," Owino wrote.

In September, Owino was sensationally re-arrested moments after being released from jail and arraigned at the Kibera Law Court to answer to assault charges.

The MP was  charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm to a voter, Joshua Otieno Obiende, on the August 8th at Soweto Social Hall in Embakasi East Constituency and using force during election contrary to Section 11 (c) of the Election Offences Act No. 37 0f 2016.
