As the political scene continues to heat up, it has not gone unnoticed the disappearance of Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama from the public limelight.

On Sunday, however, Muthama laid down his new duty in the National Super Alliance (NASA) geared towards wooing voters to support Opposition leader Raila Odinga during the August 8 General Election.

Speaking during a meeting with the Kamba community at City Stadium, the Senator announced that he will be based in Nairobi where his main work will be to ensure that the Kamba people vote for Mr Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka.

He mentioned that he will move across Nairobi City to make sure NASA and Wiper clinch the Kamukunji, Embakasi South and Lang'ata seats in the upcoming poll.

Muthama added that he will also drum support for Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and his deputy Jonathan Mueke.

Earlier speculations were rife that Mr. Muthama had ditched the NASA team because of his differences with Wiper Party leader Mr. Musyoka.

However, the Senator rubbished the allegations stating: "In 1983, Mulu Mutisya told me to support Kalonzo when I didn't even know who he was. He won. We remained in KANUuntil we moved to LDP, later to ODM-K (now Wiper and NASA. How foolish could I be to abandon him today?" he posed.

"If my first leg stepped out of Wiper, Kalonzo's would be the second and if his one leg stepped out of Wiper, Muthama's would be second," he said.

A few weeks ago, Mr. Muthama rubbished the allegations noting that there were some ground works he was doing for NASA."There are times to work in the office and I'm doing that Baba must win and be sworn in on 9/ 8/ 017".
