Only ignorant people cannot support Jubilee - Uhuru Kenyatta

On his part, Deputy President William Ruto called on Taita Taveta residents to stop gambling with their future and support Jubilee Party for development.
 
 

Just days after President Uhuru Kenyatta plowed Turkana governor, Josephat Nanok calling him all manner of names including a foolish devil, Uhuru has hit again at opposition leaders accusing them of misleading Kenyans that his government has not done enough for the people of Coast region.

Speaking in Taita Taveta County, the President who was accompanied by his deputy  and a host of other Jubilee leaders on a vote hunting mission said it was only ignorant people who cannot see his government’s track record when it comes to development and meeting his 2013 campaign promises to the people.

Uhuru added that he will not stop pointing out what is right and telling off those who falsely accuse him and his government of failing to achieve.

“You have no reason to play about with your future in the next election. Cast your votes in support of Jubilee so that we can form the government together,” he said as quoted by a local daily.

During the event, Taita Taveta Senator, Dan Mwazo and MP Joyce Lay decamped from Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party to Jubilee Party.

The two who were received by President Kenyatta and his deputy in Voi ahead of the Sunday, March 12 rally at the Tononoka Grounds in Mombasa claimed their interests were better served by the Jubilee rather than ODM.

“Politics is not about parties. It is not about clans. Politics is about interests,” he said. "I seek the seat of governor and I will pursue the interests of Taita Taveta people." Mwazo said.
