Benjamin Netanyahu's message to Uhuru Sparks controversy

Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu was in the country in 2016.

A message purportedly written by Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to congratulate President Uhuru Kenyatta on his re-election has sparked a heated debate on social media.

The statement, which was shared by the Presidential strategic communication unit (PSCU), caused hullabaloo on Twitter after Kenyans noted something peculiar with the document. "Please accept my personal congratulations message on your landslide victory in last week's presidential election. I wish you continued success in leading your country," part of the statement read.Curious Kenyans noted that the statement was dated November 2nd, yet Kenyatta's victory was upheld by the supreme court on November 20th. A section of the public questioned why the statement was publicised now yet it was written two weeks ago. Nelson Havi posed, "Was it delivered by ordinary post? Written on 2.11.17 but publicized on 21.11.17!

A section of Kenyans went a step further to question Netanyahu's signature which appeared on the letter. Some googled the Isreal Prime Minister's signature and appeared to suggest that it was altered and the whole statement was not legit as indicated by the president's communication team.

Another section claimed that the document lacked the official letterhead and security feature bt the Israel PM.
