Renowned Human Rights Activist is dead

He is notably remembered for being one of the most vocal voices in support of the International Criminal Court trials.

Renowned Kenyan Human Rights Activist Ken Wafula is dead.

Wafula passed away on Wednesday morning at the St Luke Hospital in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County where he was admitted after suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes.

According to the Hospital's Programmes Officer Kipkorir Ngetich, Wafula had been well until last Saturday when he complained of being unwell.

At the time of his death, he was the Director at the Center for Human Rights and Democracy (CHRD).

He is most notably remembered for being one of the most vocal voices in support of the International Criminal Court (ICC) trials.

He had been attacked several times for his outspoken role in the ICC trials .

In 2016 he was admitted to hospital after being attacked at a political rally in Kitale.
