Uhuru’s lawyer sharply disagrees with Matiang’i

City lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi on Thursday disagreed with the move by Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, Inspector General Joseph Boinnet and PS Immigration Gordon Kihalangwa to disobey several court orders issued to them.

High Court Judge George Odunga found the three guilty of contempt of court after orders issued in the citizenship and detention cases of self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) General Miguna Miguna.

On Wednesday Matiangí, Boinnet and Kihalangwa were instructed to appear before the court but they did not.

Mr. Nassir, who has offered legal representation to President Uhuru Kenyatta before, sharply criticised the action by Matiang’i and co stating that it was unacceptable.

“I don't care and don't give a hoot about Miguna Miguna...But I care and take great exception when LAWFUL COURT ORDERS are treated as toilet paper and are willfully disregarded...just unacceptable,” he said.

Advocates across the country have staged the yellow ribbon campaign to protest the unlawful removal of Miguna Miguna from Kenya.
